Rabbit was bought from a pet store about a year ago. He's been fed and given water everyday. Lives in a big caged indoors with a guinea pig with no problems. As gentle as can be expected. We are no longer able to take care of him.

Two boys - one a dwarf and the other a lion head. They have been together since they were about 6 weeks old and I do not want to separate them. They are very sweet and friendly. Unfortunately my husband is allergic to the hay they eat and we are not able to keep them. Please help! They are completely free to a good home. Large cage and all the accessories included.

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-05-00073Chico (male)
Chico is a very friendly new Zealand rabbit. I adopted him when I was working at an exotic hospital. He's around 4 years old now, neutered and litter box trained. He loves head rubs, and overall affection. He isn't fond of getting picked up but will gladly hop to you and lay his head on your lap if your at his level. He's on a hay only diet with oxbow treats for multi vitamins. He drinks out of water bottles because he turns over bowls. He is spoiled to the core, and has toys, a large dog carrier to sleep in and a large custom wooden table with accessories for him to play and chew on. I do not recommend a home with children as they like to be hands on and he does not like getting picked up. He has not been around any other rabbits, so it's unknown if he is compatible with another. He is a sweet boy and due to family constraints, I am unable to keep him anymore. I love him dearly and I have taken great care of him. And only want to find him the best home possible. (Less)

We found this beautiful bunny, abandoned at a park the day after Easter. He hopped right over to us and wanted to be petted. We bought a very nice hutch and put him on our lanai. All was well until last week when he figured out how to use a dog door and entered our home. We do not want him in our house and our dogs HAVE TO use the dog door. The kids are upset and insist that the ONLY way they will agree to let him go is if he goes to a home with other kids, where he will be loved. The bunny is free to a good home, the hutch is available for purchase (along with hay, food, treats, etc.).

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00320ms. daisy Mae (female)
She is a very sweet girl. Fully litter trained and eats well. She does need to be brushed and she loves it. Sometime in her younger days, before I knew her, her leg became broken and did not heal properly and her leg sticks out to the side. However, she gets around herself perfectly but can't scratch/groom everywhere, hence needing to be brushed daily. Also because of her leg I wouldn't want her to live in a highly active household. A quiet enviorment with carpet is perfect for her. She has lived cage free for ever and she should continue to live cage free for the rest of her existence. I will take her back if she doesn't work out with whoever adopts her. (Less)

Domestic rabbit found in park in Ocala. Loves to be petted, friendly. I have 2 Jack Russells and 2 cats - he's pretty agitated by them, and I haven't adequate time to take care of him. Needs loving home, probably with other rabbits.

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-28-00025Luna (female)
This is Luna, she is a 2 year old lion head dwarf rabbit who has a partner named Shadow who looks almost exactly like her, and she is up for adoption but only with Shadow (You can see his info seperately). She is a shy bunny but she loves to jump around and play in large spaces. I am looking for someone who really has the time for him and can provide her and Shadow with a large cage or pen because I do not want them caged up uncomfortably. She does have a disorder of Malocclusions where her top and bottom teeth always will grow no matter what she chews on but I have a solution a vet showed me about trimming her teeth and I can show you as well. She has trouble grooming herself with her long teeth so I have to clean her up because she does get poo stuck by her tail, but she is a very sweet bunny and is very attached to her partner Shadow. |Rescue Me ID: 14-08-19-00162Oreo (male)|
This is Oreo. He's a pretty special rabbit because he is blind in one eye. Due to the rush that shelters get in the summer, Oreo was nearly euthanized. The shelter estimated that he is 6 yrs old, and they neutered and vaccinated him. I took Oreo into foster care and he has been waiting for a new loving home. He is a very sweet rabbit, has not nipped me once. He let me clip his nails and clean his fur. He did good when meeting my own rabbit, a dwarf male. I have not introduced him to any other animals but he generally has a very low-key temperament. He loves being let out to run on the floor and get some attention. Oreo would be a great family rabbit for someone looking to add a loveable bunny. Contact me if you're interested in rescuing him. **His adoption fee has been reduced from $35 to $20. I am used to rehoming dogs and cats and it makes me uncomfortable that people get rid of rabbits for such drastically cheaper prices. I feel it defeats the purpose of a rehoming fee to ensure a caring home when they're only like $10. But apparently the competition is cheaper so Im lowering his price to try and find him a home. If you want the cage too, it's $45. I have sold an identical cage alone for $30 so I know the cage is worth that. Im just trying to make sure he gets a trustworthy home to love him. ** (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rabbit in Florida
Rabbits can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. Rabbits are adorable, soft animals that make popular pets for children. While a rabbit can make a good pet for a child, keep in mind that to be healthy a rabbit requires a quiet, calm living environment. Please only adopt a rabbit if you feel you can create a safe and quiet space for the rabbit in your home. Rabbits can be housetrained to live inside, out of a cage, which dramatically increases their life spans. Rabbits can live as long as a dog or a cat, and unfortunately some people do not approach the decision to get a rabbit with the same seriousness or commitment they might have about getting a dog. Meanwhile, breeders may separate young rabbits from their mothers too early, which damages their immune systems, and pet stores might provide very little information about proper care and nutrition. As a result, countless rabbits die within weeks of being bought. Others are never spayed or neutered, resulting in unanticipated family additions and a major overpopulation problem. Sadly, the majority of these sweet pets are eventually euthanized. Rescue shelters that accept rabbits are often overflowing. If you are planning to bring home a pet rabbit, please adopt!
