Rabbit    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Rabbits
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive

I need to find a new home for my one year and three month old dutch dwarf rabbit. He is friendly and likes to be held and snuggled. He is a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you he is very sweet. He will come to you when called, for a treat. Included with him is a Ware Manufacturing cage (28 inches long, 17 inches wide, 15-1/2 inches high), three weeks worth of Oxbow Adult Rabbit food, food dish, three weeks worth of Kaytee Timothy hay, a 32 oz. Lixit water bottle, a few Apple Orchard Chew Sticks, and a carrot chew toy. I will also provide a care sheet. Before he is picked up I will clean his cage out so he has fresh, new bedding ... Rescue Me ID: 17-08-02-00096Beakman (male)

Rabbit    Age: Adult

Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

This is Beakman. He is litter box trained and very sweet. He doesn't like to be held, but he does love head rubs and ear rubs. He is very social and prefers to be where he can watch people. It breaks my heart, but I need to rehome him. My golden retriever is so obsessed with getting him she has actually gone through a glass window. Beakman needs to remain an indoor bunny and be with someone who will give him the attention he deserves.

Animal ID: male Rex rabbitZiggy (male)

Rabbit    Age: Senior

Health: Needs to be Neutered

We have a male rabbit looking for his retirement home. His name is Ziggy. Ziggy is an approximately 7 year old male rabbit, he was born around 2010. He is believed to be a Rex rabbit, but as he is a rescue, we have no way to be absolutely positive as far as his breed. He was dropped off to the rescue when his owner was no longer able to care for him, and is now available for adoption. Ziggy is agouti (brown and black) in color, and has white around his cheeks, eyes, and ears, and feet. Ziggy is a good sized rabbit and is believed to be around 5 pounds. Ziggy has never bitten anyone. Ziggy is eating MannaPro Pro rabbit pellets, as ... (Read More)well as hay. He enjoys his greens and veggies. Ziggy is NOT neutered. As Ziggy is a senior rabbit, he will not come with a health guarantee. This said, Ziggy appears to be in good health. He needs a loving retirement home that can spoil him for the rest of his days. Please note: Ziggy is not fond of dogs, so his out-of-cage time should be spent away from any dogs that the family owns, so as to not stress him out. Regardless of past rabbit experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our rabbit care packet and fill out our adoption form. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No rabbit will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions. Ziggy is being fostered in Cedar Lake, Indiana, and interested adopters will need to be able to travel to the foster's home to adopt. If you are unable to do this, please check out rabbits elsewhere, as we are unable to have rabbits at our normal rescue location due to city ordinances. Please note: if you live in Hammond, Indiana, you will be unable to adopt, as rabbits are illegal to own in Hammond. Please note also that this rabbit is not at our location in Hammond, but is being fostered in Cedar Lake, Indiana. The adoption fee for Ziggy is $25 For more info and pictures, visit our website - If you are interested in Ziggy, or have any questions, please let us know. Ziggy is the only rabbit we have available right now, but we do have chinchillas and guinea pigs up for adoption right now. You can email us at or call 219-789-0026 for more information or if you have any questions. If you call and there is no answer, please leave a message and we will get back to you. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rabbit in Indiana
Rabbits can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. Rabbits are adorable, soft animals that make popular pets for children. While a rabbit can make a good pet for a child, keep in mind that to be healthy a rabbit requires a quiet, calm living environment. Please only adopt a rabbit if you feel you can create a safe and quiet space for the rabbit in your home. Rabbits can be housetrained to live inside, out of a cage, which dramatically increases their life spans. Rabbits can live as long as a dog or a cat, and unfortunately some people do not approach the decision to get a rabbit with the same seriousness or commitment they might have about getting a dog. Meanwhile, breeders may separate young rabbits from their mothers too early, which damages their immune systems, and pet stores might provide very little information about proper care and nutrition. As a result, countless rabbits die within weeks of being bought. Others are never spayed or neutered, resulting in unanticipated family additions and a major overpopulation problem. Sadly, the majority of these sweet pets are eventually euthanized. Rescue shelters that accept rabbits are often overflowing. If you are planning to bring home a pet rabbit, please adopt!
